Ash, Deepika's style quotient

Bollywood stars are a fashionable lot. Sometimes, they look straight out of the fashion magazines but just that once in a while, they get it wrong. We decided to play fashion police, and take a closer look at how celebs stepped out last week.

Flower power

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is gradually getting back in shape and reclaiming her position in showbiz. The mum recently stepped out for an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla event hosted by the Ambanis.

The actress dressed up in one of the designer duo's creations. While the floor-length maxi did acentuate her curves, the design was a tad too overwhelming on her.
The ever so lovely Tabu makes an overwhelming silhoutte and embroidery work in her favour as she arrives for the Ambani party.

Trust Tabu to work her clothes.
Model/aspiring actress Angela Jonsson models a Surily Goel creation at her store launch.

We hope this one was for a character in a film.
Former supermodel Mehr Jesia went the monochrome route in a white dress and shoes for the Surily Goel launch.
Former actress and jewellery designer Neelam wore a floral summer dress for the Surily Goel launch. Neither the dress or the accessories seem to be doing anything for her.
Raaz 3 actress Esha Gupta wore a pink Shantanu & Nikhil gown for the trailer launch of her new film Chakravyuh.

Is it just us or was the look too dressy for the occasion?
Deepika Padukone stood out in her embellished Abu-Sandeep salwar kameez as she arrived for the party at Ambanis' Antilla.

While Deepika looks good, the predictable outfit was a bit of a downer.
Parineeti Chopra kept it casual in an orange dress and black pumps as she attended the special screening of Bela Sehgal's Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi.

A better hairstyle would have really got her brownie points.
Sonam Kapoor wore an understated Shehla Khan anarkali for the screening of Shirin Farhad...

While the outfit itself was nice, it seemed too much for the occasion.
While Shweta Bachchan opted for a voluminous Abu-Sandeep outfit, Gauri Khan wore an embellished Manish Malhotra sari for the Ambani party.

Gauri's sari was nothing out of the ordinary, and Shweta could really have done without so much embroidery on her dress.

Jacqueline Fernandez went the denims and blazer route for the Shirin Farhad... screening. She looked fresh and relaxed.
Kangna Ranaut turned up the quirky in her by a several notches with a checkered Vivienne Westwood dress, cateye glasses and a Lady Dior bag for the Ambani party.

The dress stood out and was a clear winner.
Madhuri Dixit wore a pink salwar kameez to the Ambani party.

We wait for the day when she'll burst out of her nineties bubble, fashion-wise.
For stylist-turned-fashion-designer Surily Goel's latest collection launch, Sussanne Roshan wore a rather plain yet cutesy dress and teamed it with silver flip flops.

We'd say she was a tad underdressed but she makes it look so cool and effortless! Her recent wardrobe has been quite good too.
