Terence Lewis says it's time to do something new and he is keen to enter the realm of acting. The choreographer is looking for unconventional roles in realistic movies, which are fun to watch.
"I want to take up acting. That is something I always wanted to do but I steered towards dancing. I have been dancing for a long time now and I want to look at other avenues as well," he said.
The Mumbai-born 38-year-old runs Terence Lewis Dance Academy in Mumbai and specialises in Indian folk, contemporary and neo-classical dance forms.
"I want to do movies that I can believe in. I want unconventional yet fun cinema. I don't want to do depressing films. We live in a country where news is already depressing. No one wants to take a depression pill. I want to deal with tricky situations and make it funny and quirky," he added.
He tags superhero or typical Bollywood films as childish.
"It also doesn't have to be superhero or typical Bollywood films. Those are childish for me. Right now all the movies that have become a hit are in that category. This means that our audience still has the thinking of a 10-year-old. Take interesting subjects but don't make it boring. Make it funny and satirical," he said.
The choreographer has received one or two offers till now, but has not found anything interesting enough to take it up.
"There have been one or two offers, but nothing so exciting. I want to do something different. I don't prefer a dance film, but if it comes, I will do it. It's an obvious choice. It's not like I want to be famous or earn money. I just want to contribute to good cinema," he said.
"My agency has many directors on board, so there are talks. I am going to now actively approach people. There are some directors who are making amazing cinema like Anurag Basu, Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj and lots of interesting roles in their films which I would want to do," he added saying he wants to de-glam himself for his roles.
"I want to change my look (for films), leave the glossiness and probably look like someone from the streets."
Another wish on his list is to take up direction one day, but said that the "responsibility is tremendous".
"You need to be responsible for every department and right now I can't take so much stress. I would go completely crazy handling so much. The whole gambit of technical and (handling) emotional aspects of other people takes time. I would direct a film for sure but not now," said Lewis who will be seen as one of the judges in Life OK's talent show "Hindustan Ke Hunarbaaz" going on air in October.
He has been a judge on two season of dance reality show "Dance India Dance".

Shah Rukh Khan trained in a new exercise format to perfect his look in Yash Chopra's upcoming film
Shah Rukh Khan's look in in his upcoming Yash Chopra film is distinctly different from his two previous projects Don 2 and RA.One. Buzz is that the actor had to train in a very different fitness format to achieve his new look.
Our sources say all credit goes to SRK's personal trainer Prashant Sawant who taught him VIPR. Prashant is the same trainer who was behind SRK's six-pack abs in Om Shanti Om.
A source close to the trainer tells us, `Prashant learned VIPR first when he was in London and then trained Shah Rukh for Yashji's film.`

Scenes of Katrina in floral gowns and Shah Rukh's intense gaze at her on London's streets give the touch of romance, as do his parts with Anushka amid the scenic beauty of Kashmir.
There is drama, love, passion and the trailer hints at a sense of vengeance in Shah Rukh's character, who walks amid random bombings towards the end. It looks like a case of a classic love triangle, but leaves a lot more to guess.

Yash Chopra's soul sister, muse and self-proclaimed Mata Saraswati- reincarnated Lata Mangeshkar isn't singing in the director's new venture. It's a first in his long and illustrious career as a filmmaker. From the time Yash Chopra turned producer-director in 1973 with Daag, Lataji's voice has been integral to Yash Chopra's creativity and cinema right until his last directorial venture Veer-Zaara.
In a conversation with this writer Yashji gushed, `Lataji has always been so kind to me. She can never say no to me. As long as I am there and she's there she'll continue to sing for my films. She's a legend beyond all human definition of the word.
She's my sister and I'm so proud of her. That's why I say she's one singer who doesn't follow music, music follows her. When I see her I feel very small and humbled. There're no words to describe her. She's truly the Bharat Ratna. I'm blessed to have her love. `
To therefore find Lataji's name missing from the credits of a new Yash Chopra film would be shock to the audience, akin to Agra without the Taj Mahal.
While Yashji refrained from any comment a source close to the new project reveals that the decision to bypass Lataji was taken by Aditya Chopra and the rest of the team.
Says the source, `Yashji was adamant that Lataji sing. It's a commitment he has made to her and to himself. Yashji's new film's music composer A R Rahman and lyricist Gulzar were also keen to bring together the Jiya jale jaan jale Lataji-AR-Gulzar team together once again. But the rest of the crew felt Lataji's voice didn't match Katrina Kaif's voice at all. They regretfully decided to make do without Lataji's voice. `
When one touched base with Lataji on the matter she had no clue why she was not singing for the new Yash Chopra film. `I don't now know what Yashji has in mind for me. If he calls me I will go without a second thought. He's very dear to me, like my brother. Whether I sing for his new film or not doesn't take away my love for him. Apparently Yashji known to be an extremely simple and emotional soul, has not been able to face up to Lataji after this painful swerve away from the voice that added so much to his cinema.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha describes herself as a grounded person and says that she enjoys appreciation, but at the same time is aware of the fact that fame is a relative term.
"I'm happy that I'm being appreciated as an actress and who doesn't like box office success? I just wish that I do good films that audiences love," she said.
"I'm very grounded as a person. I know that fame is a very relative term. When films work well, fame comes naturally. I just hope that I do good work and people remember me for them," added the actress who gave two back-to-back blockbusters - "Dabangg" and "Rowdy Rathore".
"I never pick a film knowing it will be a blockbuster. I pick a film that is interesting and at the end of it all, audiences have to like it. We are entertainers, who hope to entertain always with every film," Sonakshi told.
Sonakshi forayed into Bollywood with 2010 film "Dabangg", which broke all box-office records. Her second film "Rowdy Rathore" entered Rs.100 crore club, though her recent release "Joker", which had Akshay Kumar in the male lead, failed to create the same magic at the box office.
Her next "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2" is also with Akshay.
"Akshay is a superb co-star to work with. He is a thorough professional and I have learnt a lot from him. He is one of the most punctual stars in Bollywood and it is a great quality. He is also a super actor who is so dedicated to his craft," she added.

Actor Sonakshi Sinha describes herself as a grounded person and says that she enjoys appreciation, but at the same time is aware of the fact that fame is a relative term.
